Best tips for shiny, soft, healthy looking hair? Products and natural concoctions?

My hair is quite dry seeing as I blowdry and straighten it almost every day. Anyone have any tips for making hair like this nice and shiny and soft? It's not coloured either, by the way.

Preferably only products that are cheap, or natural home made type things. Every expensive product I've tried seems to be pretty crap.

try to avoid washing it everyday this doesn't help your hair and use Avon products they do great shampoo's and conditioner's with a shiny finishing spray that looks and smell amazing.....

Give yourself an olive oil treatment once a week. Wash your hair, lightly dry and apply. Leave for as long as possible. Also, try and lay off the straighteners as much as possible.

Try the olive oil things and try not washing your hair every day or at least give it a break on weekends... or days off!

The Olive oil thing is definitely a good idea. I also had the same trouble as I dye my hair quite often. When I put conditioner on my hair (just the normal cheap type from the supermarket) I leave it on for about five minutes. I did this about three to four times a week and gradually, My hair got into better condition.

Also, treat your hair well otherwise. Brush it with a natural bristle brush for a few minutes a day and don't use too much product. Maybe turn your hairdryer off once a week, say on a Sunday or someday when you don't doo too much and just let it dry naturally or if you really can't bear to, turn the heat down a little. Simple changes often work better that fancy stuff. Believe you me, I spent serious $$$ on fancy stuff and some repairing conditioner (Pantene do a good one) did just the trick. Hope this helps. :D

I recommend the new herbal essences line. They have a shampoo for all hair types. I use totally twisted because i have curly hair, and I like it. Since you straighten your hair, you probably want straighter hair right? than use the one for straight hair. Since I blowdry my hair everyday too, my hair is pretty dry also, But according to my friends, (we all use different herbal essences) all the different kinds moisturizes hair equally. I think it's pretty cheap (3 bucks for shampoo, 3 bucks for conditioner) and I hope it works well for you too.

Kick the blowdrier and straighteners... and yeah, don't wash your hair every day. I wash mine no more than every two days, and i try to wear it in a braided style as often as possible. That way it looks better when i want it down.

olive oil is great, and rinsing apple cider vinegar through my hair between shampoo and conditioning makes it a dream.

DO THIS @ NITE B4 U SLEEP

wash ur hair and use a very good MOISTURIZING conditioner

do NOT wash out the conditioner

with the conditioner in your hair pour in Extra Virgin Olive Oil (dont put too much) and rub in completely. Wrap hair with plastic wrap snugly

as you sleep your natural body heat will activate the olive oil and moisturize your hair.

Wash out completely next day

make sure to wash out all of the olive oil or it will cause buildup

this will cure your dry hair
