Dry and annoying hair. HELP!?!?

I've been learning to make peace with my curly unruly hair (its about shoulder length now), but I'm trying to figure out how to repair all its damage.

Its been cut 8 inches, so all the scragglies are gone, but there are certain sections where the hair is so dry (disgusting!), particularly where my hair meets the back of my neck, and parts where it feels normal (perfect). Is there anyway that i can fix it? Are there certain styles that will keep my hair healthier or shampoos that will help eliminate the dryness.

Dry hair can be hard to solve sometimes. However try some hydrating shampoos and conditioners. I know Herbal Essence has come out with a new one. Pantene Pro-V Smooth and sleek is also good, and helps to repair damaged hair nicely. in general look for hydrating products that will help to replenish your hair. My secret is I will put a little more conditioner in my hair and rinse most of it out but not completely so that my hair gets a extra hydrating boost. Once my hair dries its nice, smooth, and looks refreshing. Hope this may help you.

I have very dry, damaged, frizzy hair too and I use Infusium 23 Moisturology, it works wonders and within a few washes it will make your hair feel silkier, smoother, and more controlled and healthier too. And it's not expensive at all but it works like the stuff they sell in salons. :)

I use that new Herbal Essence shampoo line..I don't remember what it's called. But I have big curly frizzy hair like yours. The Herbal Essences keeps my hair hydrated and smooth and feeling healthy.

Go to a store and see what they have. I know they have particular ones for curly hair and such.

you are gonna laugh, but mayonaisse. put mayonaisse in your hair. wrap it with tin foil and sit.

then wash it really good a time or two.

buy good shampoo, like saloon quality. you cant buy the cheap stuff.

also, they do make something called kolestral, i k now its spelled unusal, but i use it. its a leave in conditionar. great stuff.

and i really like the sebastian hair line.

i have curly hair and have used that forever.

the beautician always raves about the quality of my hair.

I have the same problem. Use Garnier Fructis shampoo and then buy a relaxer at your local drug store. It should help straighten it out, and then buy a good straightener, which you can find cheap on eBay or Sally's Beauty Supply, [Where I purchased my Chi!] If that doesn't work go to your hair salon and ask for them to relax it. It costs about $60 for them to do it.

Hair only takes a minute to dry and people WAAAY OVERDRY their hair.

There are "moisture packs " that you can ask for at the salon.

Then do them yourself, at home.

One is called Extreme Pack--by Redken.

Redken products go into your hair--NOT on it, like an oil treatment.

warm up some Mayonnaise (NOT SALAD DRESSING), do not boil! massage into your hair wrap it up with a warm towel, wait 15 to 30 minutes, shampoo and rinse with warm water not hot. Let it dry natural.

YES!!! Paul Mitchell "The Conditioner" its a leave in conditioner. also don't skimp on shampoo and conditioner, spend the money and get the saloon products. its really worth it you don't use as much either.

tresime is quite good for this and try not putting that much gel in it. wash your hair once a day or maybe even once every 2 days.

I also just cut about 8" off my curly, very dry hair. I find to tame the dryness, you must use a leave in conditioner and some kind of gel. I use "Infusium" brand leave in conditioner and "Nexus" brand Versastyler. They leave my curls hydrated and fresh looking.

i have the same problem with my hair, and it doesnt really matter what shampoo you use. i use tresseme. but the hair products should be salon quality. biosilk is a good one, the silk therapy one. also pink hair lotion or motions hair lotion is good for shine and taming frizz but dont use too much or it will make your hair greasy

My sister and I have similar experience. However, I have a book called Curly Girl. It is Perfect! It includes all types of hair, help controlling it, the perfect styles, and stories of other people with the same experience. Even the author (forgot her name) has curly hair. I think you can find it on Ebay. But here is my advice; try applying conditioner onto the dry parts and others of your hair in the shower. Make sure you brush it thoroughly and use small amounts. Do not leave the conditioner in your hair (it causes it to fall out) and MAKE SURE that you do not wash it all out. I hope this answers your question!

Get a mosterizing shampoo and conditioner then switch of and on for the other shampoo and conditioner try a tame shampoo you can find these's at target.or wal-mart, or wal-greens
