Any tips on helping dead hair become healthy?

ive been straightening my hair for 3 years, almost everyday. i used to have ringlets, but i just got kinda used to straight hair, now i have very thin, split ended, dead hair. its even turned my hair blonde,(used to be very dark brown).

First- DON'T use oils. All they do is put a coat of oil on your hair making it appear healthy and shiney, but it actually puts a barrier on your hair, making it so nothing that will actually repair your hair can get in.

The first thing to do is get a trim. Even if you Don't want to loose length the splits need to be cut before they start traveling up the hair shaft. Once ends split they can't be repaired, you gotta cut them.

For the rest of your hair what you need is protein and moisture. hair is naturally made from proteins,it's what makes our hair strong, anytime we damage our hair these need to be replaced. redken makes an awesome product called CAT Protein Reconstructing Treatment.

Protein doesn't make it not dry, so you need moisture. get a good moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, try Joico Kerapro shampoo and Moisturizer Conditioner.

if you're gonna keep flat ironing use a protective serum like Redken Smooth Down heat Glide to prevent further damage.

be patient, it usually takes a bit to get it healthy again.

I would definitely start with a professional stylist. Anything you might try without having someone look at it might cause it to break off or fall out since it is so damaged.

You can trim it a bit and use a good conditioner everyday on the ends ( like Aussie, it works well and is cheap)

and you should take vitamins (A %26amp; B vitamin complex)

olive oil is really good at repairing hair. you should do it once a week and leave it on over night. me and friends have seen a lot of benefits when doing this.
