You definitely have to take control of split ends. It's virtually impossible not to use heat on your hair when styling, so split ends are inevitable. However, you can manage them as they happen to prevent a head full of frizzy crazy hair. Do this: get a haircut, enough to remove almost all of your split ends. Then, check out your ends every few days for split ends. If you see some, take a scissor and snip off the split end. Doing this for individual split ends helps to prevent a head full of fried and frizzy hair and lets you grow your hair out because you don't lose any overall length. I've been doing it for years and I always get compliments on how healthy my hair is!!! Hope this helps!

And don't forget to use a heat protectant before styling!

You HAVE to cut the split ends. And regardless of what you do to your hair, you WILL have split ends. I cannot stress this enough. The split end will keep running up your hair and pretty soon it'll be a frazzled, ratty mess. It's ugly and gross. For the love of God and all that is holy cut your split ends.

Now then. You can deep condition and do hot oil treatments. Treat your hair very gentle when it's wet. Use common sense with your hair, basically. And use products to help filter UV rays and such.

Trim it every 6 to 8 weeks and wash it every other day. Over washing your hair will dry it out and make it more damaged. Try using a shampoo for frizzy or curly hair. Also, vitamins help so much!

Washing frequently--atleast twice per week and deep conditioning is a must. Scalp massages with stimulating hair oils (example: pure peppermint oil). Moisturize daily and balance your protein and moisture..... Protective low manipulation styles also help maintain growth. And very importantly drink atleast 64 oz. of water daily and multi and hair vitamins helps also. The hair forum Black Hair Media.com also provides a wealth of info and advice--- I have grown my hair from shoulder lenght to mid back in one year thanks to the helpful ladies on this site---Check it out.... Hope This Helps--Happy Hair Growing :-)
